Cosmetic Eyebrow Tattoo

What is Cosmetic Tattoo?
This method is the most natural looking form of eyebrow tattooing. Super fine ‘hair like’ strokes are tattooed into the skin behind existing brow hair to create density, definition and to help fill in gaps for the perfect brow. With results lasting up to 12-18months, keep your brows updated with current trends without having to commit to a ‘traditional’ brow tattoo.

Our eyebrow method is a tattoo done by hand and not machine which is called microblading. Microblading, also known as eyebrow Feather stroke which originated in Far East Asia and is taken from the bamboo tattoo method, which is known as one of the oldest technique of implanting pigment into the skin.

This method is the finest form of eyebrow tattooing, using a pen-like device with a disposable microblade attached to scratch, etch and tap very thin lines into the skin. These thin lines flow in the same direction as your own hairs, and create the most natural results.

Will you touch up someone else’s work?
No. Our touch up service is only for our existing clients. If you have had your brows done elsewhere, we do not go over them until they have completely faded. Once your brows are ready to be re-done, full prices apply.

What if you have existing tattoo?
If you have had your brows done previously, please send through a photo in natural lighting without any make up on. We will determine whether we can cover them or if you need to get them removed first.

How long do the appointments take?
Cosmetic Tattoo Eyebrows- 2 hrs

How long does it take for the tattooing to heal?
Your skin will take a total of 6 weeks to completely heal and show true results.

Is it painful?
Pain threshold levels differ amongst individuals. Some clients may experience slight discomfort and a stinging sensation. Be mentally prepared as it IS cosmetic tattooing, it is not pain-free.

How long does it last?
Pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade overtime. (IT DOES NOT LAST AS LONG AS BLOCK TATTOO) This is because we are creating fine, delicate strokes so make it look as natural as possible. Typically brows last 1-3 years, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). Skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: patients who tan, uses products with AHA or Glycolic Acid with fade faster as your skin will resurface faster and  and mostly how aggressive your immune system  is in metabolising the pigment. Each individual’s color retention within the skin will vary. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 10-18 months.

Who is NOT suitable for the procedure?
Please disclose any medically conditions when making a booking. We may require you to bring additional information from your GP to your consultation.

Oily skin does not hold pigment as well as other skin types. Strokes may not heal as crisp and clients may experience less pigment retention. An additional session may also be required to perfect it. If you are taking any types of blood thinners you will need to check with your doctor as you will need to come of these at east 7-14 days prior to your appointment.

  • Women who are pregnant or breast feeding

Is the touch up necessary?
Yes.Each new treatment is two sessions, one being the initial procedure and the other being the complimentary Perfection visit. This is to fill in any gaps that did not take from the first session. The second session is not to change the shape or colour of initial treatment, but if you wish to do so will be charged accordingly.

Can I get my touch up session sooner than 4 weeks?
No, you must allow a minimum of 4-8 weeks for the skin to fully heal.

Do my brows need to be removed / shaved Prior?
Absolutely not, it is desirable to have as many natural hairs as possible to achieve a natural look.

How are the colours chosen?
Your artist will help you choose a color that is best suited to your brow hair in order to get a more natural and blended result. We have a large range of pigments, sometimes 2 or more pigments can be mixed to create a unique color for you.

What types of pigments do you use?
We use iron oxide pigments that will fade over time and are naturally absorbed by the skin. Iron oxides are innocuous, harmless and perfectly safe for implantation into your skin.

Can I wear makeup around them?
It is not recommended to use any kind of foundation  around your brows, the skin should be kept clean for up to 10 days after. Eye makeup is okay.

Will I be able to return back to work the next day?
Yes, swelling and redness will subside within 24hrs. The color of your brows will be dark for the first few days but will soften.

Does it hurt afterwards?
The area can be a little sore for the first few hours and tender to touch for a couple days.

Is there a risk of infection?
There is minimal risk of infection as strict hygiene standards are maintained. Sterile, disposable, single use needles from sealed packets are used.

Can I see some examples of your work?
Our Instagram displays recent work on our clients and is updated daily.

Is it permanent?
Technically, semi-permanent micro-pigmentation is considered permanent because the colour is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, the pigment is implanted more superficially than a traditional tattoo, so it naturally fades over time.

Why are pigments so intense when first implanted? Like wet clothing is darker before drying, pigments look brighter and darker immediately after they are implanted into the dermal layer of the skin. Increased blood flow to the treatment area is one reason for the more intense colours. Another reason is that the pigments are made up of liquified power particles. The body gradually absorbs the liquid allowing the pigments to return to their original dry condition.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

You will get much better results when you properly prep. It all starts with a good canvas! The eyebrow area must be healthy, strong, non-sensitive and non-irritated.  Here’s how to get your skin ready for the procedure.

  • Do not have botox 3 weeks prior

  • Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior (natural blood thinners)

In order to avoid excessive bleeding and poor colour deposit:
